Over at Uni Watch, they are having a rename and redesign of the New Orleans Hornets since Tom Benson purchased them and announced he wanted to change the name to something more evocative of New Orleans. I chose the New Orleans Pelicans, while not intimidating, is a common local bird and also the name of a former minor league baseball team. I like the classic feel and simplicity of the logo. I also chose a unique color scheme for the NBA with the inclusion of brown. While not the city’s famous colors of purple, green, and gold, I think these colors represent New Orleans as well.
